School Information

Provision for children with Special Educational Needs is provided within the normal class structure and supported when necessary by external agencies, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Behaviour Support Team members.

Pupils entering school in Reception cover the Early Years Foundation Stage, pupils in Years 1 and 2 follow Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum. Those children in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 continue through Key Stage 2. There will be three opportunities over the school year for parents to meet with teachers. During the Autumn Term there will be a consultation evening during which individual children’s work and progress may be discussed and targets set for the year. In the second term there will be an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and achievement to date. Then during the Summer Term parents are invited to attend open days with a focus on an aspect of the school curriculum.

The education of your child is a partnership between school and home. The teaching staff are always available to see parents at the end of the school day. if you have a particular problem or query, then please do not hesitate to contact the school. All reception age children will be contacted during the term prior to their entry to full-time education. They will be given an opportunity to experience the school day over several initial visits. The school is grateful for the support of a very active ‘Friends of the School’ organisation. They organise a wide range of social functions and offer support for school events.
