Friends of Priorslee are a group of parents and teachers who volunteer some of their time to organise social events through out the school year for pupils, staff and parents.
We organise these events to raise money to purchase equipment, goods and projects for our children, to help the school give them the very best. Examples of items we have been able to purchase in the past are hand held interactive pods to use with the white boards, TV/VCR’s, DVD player, lockers, playground and reception equipment and contributed to food and technology.
These events also provide an opportunity for parents to get to know each other.
How do we raise money?
By coordinating events which have included children’s disco’s, mufti days, Summer/Christmas Fayres, bingo nights, sponsored bicycle rides to name but a few.
How can I get involved?
We have a couple of options for you to choose from to be involved with your child’s school, depending upon the amount of time you have to offer.
Complete the attached form and return to school if you want more information, would like to be included on our helpers list or want to join the next committee meeting. Friends Intro Letter 2011 (57 KB)
Meetings: Once your child attends the school or you become a member of staff you are then very welcome to attend meetings. We meet once a month in the school staff room, date and time of which is posted around the school approximately one week before. Also feel free to ask any of the friends when the next meeting is.
Helper: Should you not have the time for a committee role then please volunteer to be a helper at any of the events. Just half an hour of your time at events such as the Summer and Christmas Fayres would be greatly appreciated.
